The EU programme EURAD-2 is following EURAD-1 a programme where Nuclear Transparency Watch (NTW) was involved from 2019 to 2024. In this new programme, a 1st “Interaction with Civil Society” (ICS) workshop took place in Fontainebleau
at Mines-Paris’ facility on
24-25 March 2025 with participants from many
European countries to exchange on
radioactive waste.

Following this 1st ICS workshop, radioactive waste 🛢️☢️ and climate change impacts 🔥 🌊 were addressed during the 1st Climate workshop from 26-27 March 2025 🗓 still at the Mines’ facility in Fontainebleau. A technical visit focusing on climate change impacts in Nemours 🇫🇷 (CEREEP center) launched this second event.

Presentation, analysis, cross-study of keynote papers prepared by different waste management actors, including civil society, helped the 41 participants in elaborating shared viewpoints and outcomes regarding the prior topics to be considered.
